INSTALLATION:
Immediately after unpacking, examine the
switch panel for any damage that may have
occurred during transit. If the equipment
has been damaged during transit, promptly
fi le a claim with the carrier. Carefully check
all envelopes, shipping labels, and tags
before removing or destroying them.
MOUNTING YOUR SWITCH PANEL:
This switching system comes with a
Universal Bail Bracket that allows for
versatile mounting in position needed.
Positioning the bracket below the unit
permits it to be mounted on a horizontal
surface. Positioning the bracket above
the unit permits it to be mounted to the
underside of the dash.
Determine where you will locate the unit
then use the mounting bracket as a guide
and drill holes into the mounting surface
using the appropriate size drill bit.
The bracket can then be mounted to the
surface. The type of hardware will vary
depending on what surface the switch panel
is being mounted to.
SAFETY NOTICE:
When drilling into the vehicle, ensure
that both sides of the surface are clear of
anything that could be damaged.
WIRING PROCEDURE:
NOTE: Make sure the fuses are removed
and the positive batter terminal has been
disconnected before installing or servicing
this unit.
1 The installer needs to determine the
current load in amps, of each of the
devices to be switched by the Rocker
Max Pak™.
2 Connect the device(s) to the desired
switch(es) noting the current limitations
of each switch and group of switches.
3 The 8ga. red wire, “H’, should be run from
the switch box to the (+) side of the
battery, with a user supplied in line fuse.
4 The red wire, “B”, powers the
backlighting. Connect it to a +12Vdc
ignition switched circuit or the parking
lights circuit, as desired. Backlighting
is provided by an array of solid state
LEDs. A user supplied 1A fuse is highly
recommended for this input.
5 Connect the black “G” wire to the vehicle
chassis ground.
6 Turn all switches OFF. Install all fuses
and attach the battery positive terminal.
Check all power fuses to assure against
short circuits. If any have opened, check
associated wiring for cuts, defects or
improper connections
OPERATION:
Each individual output is rated for 15A
maximum and is protected with a 20A ATO
fuse. Level 1 + 2 is protected by a 40A
circuit breaker. (Each group is rated for 40A
maximum.) Total box switching capacity
is 60 Amps. Be careful not to exceed any of
these maximum ratings.
One at a time, turn each device on. Again,
check for proper operation.
If a fuse needs replacement, maximum of
20A ATO style fuses MUST be used.
SAFETY NOTICE:
Make sure to properly fuse the supply wire
at the source of power in the event of a
short circuit. Also make sure the wire gauge
is suffi cient to carry a minimum of 70 Amps
of current.
